Are you aware of this Kroger Program and that Operation Peace, Hope Hill Elementary, and Intown Academy are listed as choices to receive funds? All one has to do is link your Kroger rewards card with your choice and they get a little something every time you shop. This is such an easy and wonderful way to get funds to our schools or Operation Peace.
How many Kroger shoppers are in NPU-M? (Plenty!)
Let’s spread the word
NPU M is conducting the annual process of reviewing our bylaws, as mandated by the City of Atlanta. A bylaws committee was formed, and it submitted a proposal for revisions at the September 23rd meeting of the General Body. Thanks to Keith DeCay, Jim Schneider, Kit Sutherland, Matt Garbett, Matthew Jones, and Rashid Muhammad for serving on the committee.
Amendments to the Bylaws were also proposed from the floor. As per our current bylaws, the changes were tabled until the next meeting to allow time for review. All members of NPU M are eligible to vote on the bylaws, regardless of prior attendance. If you reside, own property, or operate a business/organization (one designated rep from the latter) in NPU M, you are eligible to vote at October’s meeting (October 28, 6:30PM). We meet at 515 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue at the Helene S. Mills Sr. Multipurpose Senior Center.
We strongly encourage you to read the proposed changes, discuss them, and attend the October 28th meeting. Here’s some material to help you participate — the bare essentials are in bold:
Please review the change of agent application and post any feedback to our Facebook page.
In partnership with District 2’s Atlanta Intown paper, Councilmember Kwanza Hall is launching “Keep It INtown,” a campaign to encourage Atlantans to shop local and buy local. One of the components of the campaign is a series of segments on City Channel 26. Each segment will feature three District 2 small, independent businesses. We envision 4-5 segments in 2012, with the possibility of extending beyond next year.
The first segment, “Keep It INtown for the Holidays,” debuted today on City Channel 26. It features Highland Bakery, Seven74 Boutique, and Vintage Barber Shop. Please see this link to the segment: http://vimeo.com/32586777
If you would like to nominate District 2 small, independent businesses from your neighborhood for segments in 2012, please do!
